Deanna Mills, NP

Clinical Experience

Deanna Mills began her career in medicine as a Registered Nurse in 1994. After many years working in the ER, she became a Nurse Practitioner in 2014 to continue providing the highest quality care to her patients and their loved ones. In pursuit of holistic wellness, Deanna has always had an interest in mental health and its connection to physical health. For over two years, she managed the care of individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, hormonal imbalance, weight gain, and the co-morbid conditions that go along with these in her internal medicine practice. In addition, she worked at a ketamine clinic to provide supervised care for patients affected by bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

Throughout each of these experiences, Deanna has broadened her understanding of wellness and solidified her belief that the mind and the body are intrinsically related. Much of her recent work has related to these complex connections, which led her to certification in Lifestyle Medicine. Additionally, she will soon join the team at an addiction medicine clinic to expand the breadth of care that she’s able to provide for mental health patients.

Deanna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Master of Science degree in Adult-Gerontology from East Carolina University.
