Your skin is constantly subjected to cold, heat, wind, and rain, bombarded with environmental toxins in the air. While the skin is an amazing organ, with time, the exposure, coupled with decreased collagen production, will lead to lines, creases, and wrinkles becoming etched into the surface. A Vampire Facial calls on your body’s natural healing capacity to leave you with skin that looks and feels more youthful, refreshed, and supple.

What is a Vampire Facial?

A “Vampire Facial” has proven to be one of the most effective skin rejuvenation treatments available. It is a two-part process, starting with a blood draw, just like you have experienced with a doctor. The blood sample is then processed to create PRP, or “platelet-rich plasma.” The PRP has an abundance of the healing factors found in your own blood. The second step is microneedling, in which tiny channels are created in the skin, stimulating natural collagen production. The PRP serum is then applied, flowing into the skin through the micro-channels, where the magic begins.

What can a Vampire Facial do for my skin?

This treatment can dramatically enhance facial skin quality and improve any of the following skin conditions or flaws:

  • Wrinkles, fine lines
  • Sagging skin
  • Sunspots
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Unevenly toned skin
  • Rough skin texture
  • Acne scarring
  • Dry skin

How does it work?

The regenerative effect of the PRP, combined with microneedling, is that the skin responds to the needling by building fresh, firm, collagen strands, the underlying scaffolding of the skin, bolstered by the nutrients, proteins, and growth factors in the PRP, stimulating natural skin cell growth. The result of the treatment is naturally firmer, healthier, glowing skin. PRP, when combined with microneedling, has been shown to be effective in restoring skin elasticity, natural volume, and texture.

Your Vampire Facial treatment – what to expect

At Seattle Regenerative Medicine Center, we focus on delivering treatments that restore your skin and body from within, calling on the skin to heal naturally. A Vampire Facial can dramatically enhance your skin quality. The treatment experience is reasonably comfortable.

The microneedling process is reasonably easy to experience, with a sensation of warmth and a scratching feeling. In some facial areas, closer to the bone, you may feel minor discomfort during the process.

Once completed, the PRP serum is applied to the skin. The serum is left on your face for 12 to 24 hours for maximum healing. The entire treatment requires about one hour to complete, and can achieve a remarkable level of skin rejuvenation, with your skin firmer, softer, plumper, and healthier.

What is the recovery time after a Vampire Facial?

The day following your treatment, you can wash your face to remove the PRP. Your skin may be slightly red, be slightly bruised in some areas, and look and feel as if it has a minor sunburn. These side effects fade rapidly. The first results appear within about a week or two (everyone responds a little differently) and continue to improve during the following one to two months, with your feeling and looking more supple, healthy, and youthful. A series of treatments performed at intervals may be recommended in some cases of skin aging.
